Who I Am
I am Runjhun Pandit. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
What I Do
I help people who experience negative body image or a disordered eating cycle and are unable to understand the reasons behind it. I enjoy working with pre-teens and adolescents struggling with body image issues, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), binge eating, or anorexia nervosa. I help adolescents and their families gain control over anorexia, develop healthy ways of coping with stress, and regain their life. I believe in meeting the client and the family where they are in the process of treatment in order to help them effectively.
I am trained in Family Based Treatment (FBT) and am completing certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in order to help clients struggling with food trauma and body image. And I strongly believe that involving parents in the treatment of eating disorders helps the client feel more supported and leads to better outcomes. I am passionate about working with clients coming from different backgrounds.
I have experience working with adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties due to life phases, and trauma. I also have experience working with families striving to support their teens or learning better ways of communicating with each other. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) along with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness practice. I am a strong advocate of involving mindfulness based work in everyday life in order to rejuvenate our racing minds.
As part of the EDTLA team and under the supervision of Dr. Lauren Muhlheim, I am passionate about helping individuals work through their disordered eating pattern so that they are able to continue creating their own life.
More About Me
I received my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. I have previously worked with a crisis stabilization team, suicide prevention hotline, substance use residential program, and inpatient psychiatric hospital. I was born and raised in India and recently moved to the United States for further education. I am multilingual and a trained singer and dancer.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, my chocolate lab, biking and hiking. I love to explore new places to visit while trying different cuisines and restaurants.
How I Help
I believe that change comes when there is a safe space to explore oneself while being accepted without any judgements and I strive to provide that space for self-exploration while providing effective coping tools.
