Who I Am

Hi! My name is Julianna Kirkpatrick (she/her) and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.

What I Do

I take a holistic approach to healing one’s relationship with food and body, centering my client’s needs and strengths throughout treatment. I incorporate evidence-based modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) combined with mindfulness-based practices informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory. I also utilize a Health At Every Size (HAES) and All-Foods-Fit approach to support clients in healing their relationship with food and improve their relationship with their bodies.

I have worked in the residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels of care, specializing in the treatment of feeding and eating disorders for adolescents, adults, and their families. Prior to this, I worked in the outpatient setting supporting child, adolescent, and adult survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence. Through these experiences, I learned to support clients with a diverse range of experiences including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, anxiety, depression, negative body image, disordered eating, complex trauma, and PTSD.

More About Me

I received my MS in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In my free time, I enjoy quality time with friends and family, spending time in nature, camping, swimming, live music, and exploring new restaurants.

How I Help

My therapeutic approach is grounded in the idea that healing stems from the relationship. I strive for each client to feel seen, heard, and understood and it is a priority for me that our therapeutic relationship feels human and authentic. Treatment is structured through compassionate connection combined with gentle invitations to challenge maladaptive patterns. We will work collaboratively to identify stuck points and incorporate your inherent strengths to move you closer to living a more connected, confident, and centered life.
