Clinical Postdoctoral Fellowship in Eating Disorders at EDTLA

Eating Disorder Therapy LA is accepting applications for our post-doctoral fellowship. EDTLA is a group private practice specializing in evidence-based eating disorder treatment in the mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about developing expertise in evidence-based therapy for eating disorders.

The practice is primarily insurance-based and is committed to increasing access to quality care for eating disorders for a diverse clientele in person in Los Angeles and virtually throughout California. Our work is rooted in Health at Every SizeĀ® and a social justice approach. The postdoctoral fellowship is a year-long experience designed to meet the experience required for licensure in California. The position will include training in the use of evidence-based treatments for eating disorders including Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for ARFID (CBT-AR). Fellows provide outpatient therapy for clients with a full range of eating disorders. Fellows receive two hours of supervision each week, attend our bi-weekly staff meetings and didactic training, and have opportunities for additional training.

Our practice comprises psychologists, social workers, and licensed marital and family therapists. We work closely with local dietitians, medical doctors, psychiatrists, and treatment centers.

The full-time position starts in August 2023. The starting pay is $35 per clinical hour plus $16.05 for admin hours. Clinical caseload is anticipated to be approximately 22 to 25 hours per week with an initial salary estimated as $52,000/year and once licensed, there is an opportunity for a staff-level position with a significant increase in pay. A 2-year commitment is preferred in order to obtain competence in all three modalities: CBT-E, CBT-AR, and FBT. Medical benefits, vacation, and sick leave are provided.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of all doctoral degree requirements from an APA- or CPA- accredited program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
  • Interest and/or experience in the treatment of eating disorders
  • Experience in evidence-based treatments including CBT, DBT, and/or ERP
  • Meet the credentialing requirements to register as a Psychological Associate in California
