Who I Am

Hello! My name is Shadi (she/her) and I am a bilingual (Farsi) Associate Marriage and Family Therapist that resides in Los Angeles, CA.

What I Do

In my work, I offer a trauma-informed approach and recognize the importance of the mind-body connection in the healing process, trusting that your body holds profound wisdom. I enjoy working with you to cultivate a deeper awareness of your inner world and offer a heart-centered space for you to gain insight into your process and develop healthier coping habits. My approach is rooted in honoring all the intersections of identity, allowing me to lead with cultural sensitivity and a deep appreciation for your story. The lens through which I work is body positive, queer allied, HAES®-informed, and conscious of the intersection between systems of oppression and mental health. I am experienced in working with addiction, intergenerational trauma, and attachment issues. I work with both teens and adults.

More About Me

I received my Master of Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. While there I worked in the Culture and Trauma Research Lab where I conducted research examining the intersection between culture, race, and mental health. My experience there deeply inspired by trauma-informed approach to therapy and I am always eagerly seeking new opportunities to grow as a therapist.

In my free time I enjoy reading, exploring nature, studying plants, and sharing meals with friends!

How I Help

My practice is warm, empathic, and humorous and my goal with any client is to first establish a trusting container where you feel safe to express yourself. I use somatic and evidence-based practices to support you in achieving your goals and accessing the internal wisdom already available to you.
