Who I Am

Hi, I’m Caitrin (she/her)! I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.

What I Do

I use a trauma-informed, person-centered, Health At Every Size (HAES) approach to support individuals struggling with eating disorders. I am a queer affirming therapist with experience working with individuals of diverse identities and experiences. My hope for my clients is that they leave therapy with self-compassion, acceptance, and decreased behavioral symptoms. I believe that clients enter therapy with a desire to change their lives and deserve respectful, intentional care that takes their diverse experiences into account when identifying goals.

More About Me

I received my Bachelor of Art degree in Linguistics and French from University of Pittsburgh and my Master of Psychology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Previously, I worked in a residential treatment center, providing care to individuals recovering from substance use disorders and co-occurring diagnoses. I also have experience working with survivors of sexual abuse and interpersonal violence in both an outpatient and residential environment.

In my free time, I like to see movies, read books, and spend time in nature–especially with my dog, Ricoh. I love cooking and restaurants and finding new ways to enjoy food with my community.

How I Help

I support clients in meeting their goals and increasing their quality of life by creating an empathic space wherein clients can safely identify and protect their desires for their lives. Using warmth, humor, empathy, and psychoeducation, I invite clients to feel empowered to change what is no longer serving them. Clients deserve evidence-based practices that acknowledge the diversity of experience and identity that shape their lives. No two clients are the same, so therapy is never cookie cutter. Instead, clients receive best-practices with their unique story in mind, with their collaboration. Utilizing CBT, FBT, and ACT, I work with clients to make concrete changes that resonate deeply in all aspects of their lives.
