Who I Am
I am Carolyn Hersh. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
What I Do
My passion is helping people who struggle with their relationship with food, body image and self. My goal is to help my clients emancipate themselves from destructive thoughts and behaviors and create a more balanced outlook on life. I base my treatment on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while also incorporating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills and motivational interviewing. I help people to challenge automatic negative thoughts, decrease anxiety, and help obtain a more balanced and sustainable attitude.
As part of the EDTLA team, I am honored to be able to help people with all types of eating disorders and supporting them in their recovery. I firmly believe in starting where the client is and guiding them onto a successful path of recovery. I have experience working with teens who struggle with identity issues as well as clients with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, relationship issues, and grief counseling.
