Who I Am
I am Lauren Barker. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist.
What I Do
I offer support, guidance, and compassion to individuals struggling with eating disorders. It is my goal to help clients find a sense of safety, freedom, peace, and empowerment. I approach the work through the lens of Narrative Therapy, while incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills.
More About Me
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of California, Los Angeles and my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Dominguez Hills. I have worked at the residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care, providing service to adolescents and adults with eating disorders and co-occuring disorders. In addition to eating disorders, I have experience working with victims of domestic violence, addiction, depression, and anxiety.
In my free time, I enjoy yoga, traveling, and curating my vinyl collection.
How I Help
With a client-centered, non-judgmental approach, I work to foster wellbeing and empowerment to individuals and families from all walks of life.
