Join our comprehensive 8-hour program, featuring 2 hours of daily activities focused on food exploration and education tailored specifically for children with ARFID sensory-sensitivity type. Our program incorporates researched treatments for ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), including FBI-ARFID, responsive feeding, and CBT-AR techniques.
This program aims to empower kids to explore new foods, increase their awareness of their sensory superpowers, and develop confidence.
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Explain ways their bodies are smart
- Increase their confidence in exploring novel foods
- Describe strategies to expand food variety
This is led by Dr. Lauren Muhlheim, Psy.D., CEDS-S, the author of When Your Teen Has an Eating Disorder: Practical Strategies to Help Your Teen Recover from Anorexia, Bulimia & Binge Eating, who provides specialized outpatient therapy for children, teens, and adults with ARFID.
She is joined by Vanessa Galeano, SLP a full-time pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist at a top children’s hospital treating complex feeding and swallowing disorders, and also in private practice.
